Technology
Bimodal Electric Tissue Ablation (BETA) was invented by Dr John Cockburn and Dr Simon Wemyss-Holden at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital in response to tissue desiccation observed during radiofrequency ablation procedures. A series of publications then followed demonstrating the potential of BETA to enhance radiofrequency ablation and offer new treatment options to patients.
In 2015 the BETA technology was assigned to Ablatus Therapeutics Ltd for development and commercialisations as a medical device.
BETA is protected by granted patents.
